THSI has four main events: Displays at the Museum, Evening Programs, Quilt of Valor Presentations, and Troy Cemeteries Project
Evening presentations began in the spring of 2018. Once a month, a guest speaker presents a topic connected to Troy’s historical past. Click here for more details.
The Museum has a main display that changes throughout the year. A theme is selected and then articles are displayed and posters are created to add additional information. There are also smaller display cabinets throughout the museum holding smaller grouped items. Click here for more details.
THSI places flags on the graves of our 220 veterans buried in our seven local cemeteries. Additionally, we assist with genealogy and Find-A-Grave for our cemeteries.
Quilt of Valor
Quilts of Valor (QoV) is a national program honoring our nation’s veterans. The THSI has partnered with the local QoV program to try to honor all our Troy veterans. Group presentation are done at Troy Days and the Troy School’s Veteran’s program in Nov. Smaller family group presentation are done as well.
